2nd event at WMMP

Feature Results: #47 - 8th #57 - 8th |
Smoking ! A few laps into the first practice the fuel pump hemorrhaged (causing an oil leak).
|
Hey Joe, seen my shoes? Under major pressure the fuel pump is changed on a very hot engine.

Driver # 47’s remarks:
“ Last night wasn’t a bad finish minus the most embarrassing moment ever. Under one of the cautions I accidentally ran into the back of the # 20. It was totally unintentional and extremely embarrassing. My foot cramped up so I was stretching it and the next thing I knew Kendall’s tailpiece was in my face. I thought I ended my night when I had realized what had happened. During practice the car just wouldn’t run and we thought we had cooked the crate motor.By the time |

we had everything figured out it was time for my first qualifier. The car just wouldn’t handle and was all over the track during the qualifier. Team #47 was able to get everything under control for the feature. So I’m very happy to bring home an 8th place finish after starting in the rear for the second week in a row. One more week in the back and then team #47 will be able to start moving into the pack."

Driver # 57’s remarks:
“ We had a good weekend this time around and I know we all had a lot of fun! Practice went well and I would like to thank Craig Roy driver of the #14 for helping me out during practice. I know trusting a rookie not to drive like a bat out of hell next to another driver is tough. During practice Craig dropped back with me from the group of cars we were in and helped show me a little bit more about the boundaries of the track. The qualifier just didn’t go down the way I would have liked |

it to, but I feel like I’m already doing better than the last time the green flagged dropped. The rain delay left the track greasy and a lot tougher for me than I would have liked. As a rookie I feel like I am trying to hold my own. I was feeling like a lot of drivers ran me rough. I finally had to put my foot down and not let drivers who weren’t clear from just driving on in. I am really happy with how the whole race team worked together this weekend and was able to bring home a pair of two 8th place finishes. Even more impressive is that my car came home in one piece with no broken parts! I would like to say congratulations to the Mike Clark driver of the #2 for bringing it on home with a second 1st place finish. The #2 is one of our old cars and it was proven with Brock that it is a strong car capable of finishing like that all year. We will continue to work on the car all this week and will be back at the Park on Saturday ready to go in race #3. Hopefully weather will permit two weekends in a row.

Post race collaboration on the #57 Super Street. Joe, really, where's my other shoe ?

Crew Remarks: (Fred)
WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT? “ I would have to say we were on the good side of the race gods. For those of you who weren’t at the Park, we had a power outage. It happened during the ACT race, and luckily it was during a caution. I think if it had been during the race the outcome could have been disastrous. For you folks who are not familiar with H.I.D. lighting it takes about twenty minutes for them to restrike once the power is interrupted. The whole Woodstock/Lincoln area had about a 30 second interruption of power.
On the racing side it started out as a tough night after losing a fuel pump and missing out on the second round of practice. This set the tension a little high at our camp. Chan started the show, and again showed signs that he may well have what it takes. He came back from his race intact and worked his way to 8th. As I recall with Brock our first two rookie races ended a tad bit early. Speaking of Brock, I don’t think we will ever let him live down the Joey Chitwood show during a caution. I thought Bobby Brown was going to throw his headset over the fence! With that behind us he did have a good run and made it up to 8th , good job Brock! Nice work team #21. Oren is a true teamster. If the driver of the #04 reads this we are glad to see that you were ok. We all fear those kinds of crashes. Well until next week, wish for good weather."
P.S.
Hello to Melanie, Stephanie, and Dave!!!
|
Congratulations Team #21 on the Triple Crown win. After that feature ended I yelled on the radio "you're the man!!" and I could not talk, I was so choked up. (John Remick)
|
It was a Triple Crown Win for Oren. Oren and John won their heat race, the semi-feature and the feature! It just doesn't get any better than that !!
