“Well you can really feel it winding down. It won’t be long before the leaves start turning. Our Saturday nights will just be history in a few weeks. Is there anyone else out there who feels like me? I must admit at this stage in the season, I do sometimes wonder what a Saturday night off would feel like. This weekend will definitely be different for web girl. She leaves for college on Wednesday to pursue her career as Dr. Davis. Kayleigh is the youngest and I know I’m going to be sad because I will have no one to fight with during the week. I have often said that I have always wanted a pro-athlete, but I didn’t know it was going to be a female. Kayleigh is a level 10 gymnast who will be competing in NCAA meets from Florida to Michigan. To put that in race car terms, it’s like a pro stock on methanol. Let’s hope she stays safe and has a real good season.
How about the news from Oxford! If my gut feeling is right, they will have to start qualifying races in June. As a spectator I have enjoyed watching the pro stocks, but from a business standpoint I can understand how they reach their decision. You can bet the late models will put on a hell of a show. Did anyone else notice the #10 out of Quebec this past weekend, Tabanac! Did anyone notice the Dale Shaw sticker on his hood!
I’m signing off for now. Wednesday and Thursday we take Kay off to college in Pennsylvania. On Friday I have to be in Bangor, Maine, and Saturday is back to the park where friends, family, and fenders come together. See ya!
p.s. You boys did okay last weekend!"

Jourdan returned in his #67 late model. During a practice run the sway bar loosened up and cut down the right front. Bobby Brown quickly diagnosed the problem which sent Fred running to the parts trailer for a fix. The car was not handling well in the heat race. Jourdan started the feature in the back of the pack but could not get the power to the ground. He did a very commendable thing and brought the car in after being lapped by the leaders. That's how you earn respect. Good job Jourdan.

Driver Remarks: (Jourdan)
“Everyone on the #67 team had a lot of fun. In practice the #67 had a lot of mechanical issues and popped a flat. The team and I worked really hard to get it fixed and ready for the show. In the feature I went a lap down and my older brother Brock passed me on the outside. I hope he’s not mad that I didn’t wave! From here on out in the season, we’re going to concentrate on practicing and getting ready for next year. There is a lot we need to figure out with the car, and I have a lot to learn myself. My past two experiences have been a lot of fun and I can’t wait to do it again."

Super Street Qualifier
Chan started 4th in the event and moved quickly to the 2nd spot but could not chase down the #77 of Jean LeBlanc.
|
Super Street Feature
The #57 started 4th in the 18 car field.
|
This was the roughest Super Street race I've seen this year. Chan lined up 7th on this restart and brought the bruised #57 home for an 8th place finish.

Driver Remarks: (Chandler)
“Saturday night was a fender bending, ball joint twisting, gloves off event for the Supers. For my 11th race I showed my rookie colors once again. I definitely had the book thrown at me from some of the situations I was involved in. At one point I was sitting in a pretty good place to win, and the next thing I knew I was in 7th because I let the car get a little loose. There are some real tough battles going on in the Supers and a lot of great saves being made by everyone. It was a tough weekend, but I’ll get it all put back together for the next green flag."
