Championship night at Riverside Speedway.
It has been over twenty years since I visited Riverside and I don't know why it took so long to return to the track I grew up with. It was a fun day and I got to watch some great racing. Below is a picture of the track in it's dirt days back in 1967.

The new Outlaw Sportsman Division.
Steve Patnaude has been working with track manager Dick Therrien on a new class for 2007. Seven of the nine cars that raced were WMMP Super Streets. Next year the division will run similiar chassis/motor configurations and wear dirt modified bodies.

Fred, Chandler and the Five Pine crew couldn't resist "just one more" race in 2006.
(It didn't hurt that car owner "Maggie" was out of town for the weekend and might not notice).

The #57 lined up 4th in the 9 car field (comprised mostly of WMMP regulars). Chan lost a couple of positions during the early laps and as the car got better he took those back and finished 4th in the 25 lap event. Jonathan Ledger won the event followed by #74 Doug Laleme, #2 Mike Clark, #57 Chandler, and the #77 of Jean Leblanc.
It was a lot of fun but the team has no plans to hang a
modified body on this great #57 chevy camaro.

2006 Late Model Champion Ken Dufour
Congratulations to Ken and his Central Asphalt Paving team. The driver and crew were up to the challenge and Ken brought home the first track championship of his career. Fred spoke with Ken's proud Mother and Father immediately following the feature event. Consistency was the name of the game this year. As Dick Dufour put it, "and he did it without winning a feature."
