Saturday was a rainy mess up north. We waited before 2pm before departing Whitefield which made the day even more stressful than it had to be! It was tough leaving town knowing I still had mechanical gremlins under the hood. The racing on Saturday night was good with a second place qualifying run and a second place in the semi. When feature time came, we still had no power steering. I really manhandled the 47 to keep it in the groove. I really hated to see the first caution on lap 38, especially with the rain starting to come down. But all in all, we came out of the race with a good solid finish in fourth and hope to improve on it in the weeks to come.
The real excitement on Saturday night was found in the Super Street class, watching my brothers Buck (Jourdan) and Chan racing door handle to door handle! It was really good to see Jourdan out there in a competitive car getting some much needed seat time, not to mention having a little fun. Chan did a good job considering he missed the qualifier due to having to change the clutch in the 57.
I would like to give a big thanks to Aaron and Marc Belanger for all their help two weeks ago by getting everything to the racetrack as well as for their mechanical support. I would also like to thank Sam Gooden for his help this past Saturday night on the radios and on the car set-up as well.
